Key West’s a Bitch
This may sound “kitch” But I’ve lived here some time now Key West’s a bitch I love her some days and some days I hate Did I force my arrival here Or was it just fate I loved DC and all the ones I called friend But the pressures just built up and To the Southernmost city myself I did send The reasons I had were just and right But no matter where you are if you’re alone It’s still lonely at night I’m happy to be here really With new friends and great work This town let’s you flex You can be what you want Sometimes even a jerk Just be honest and true to the locals you meet Or the next time you go To your favorite watering hole You will certainly lose your seat Maybe that’s why so many flock to this isle Bullshit is out It’s just not the style If I left here I know what I wouldn’t be missing The drunks on Duval Street In front of the bank they are pissing But then there’s the sun, the sky and the ocean Excuse mister tourist can I borrow your lotion.
