  • The Sargento Artisan Excursion - Deadline: June 30, 2008
    A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for purchasers of Sargento’s premium Artisan Blends specialty cheeses to share in the artisan cheese making experience firsthand with a trip to some of the most well-known cheese making facilities in the world.     The California Walnut Marketing Board "Smart Salads" Recipe Contest begins a national search for salad recipes incorporating walnuts that are nutritious, delicious and enjoyed in the appropriate portion, to help make families salad dishes and menus smarter.  Four winners will be chosen by a panel of judges, including Google’s executive chef Charlie Ayers, and receive one-of-a-kind handmade California Walnut wood salad serving bowls.  Twelve other randomly selected winners will receive prizes as well.
     
  • Ocean Spray Ultimate Cranberry Recipe Contest - Deadline: June 30, 2008
    Foodservice professionals only. Not open to the general public.
    Whether you are a chef, a recent culinary graduate, or a bartender just starting out... Ocean Spray® wants your recipe.  Food recipes must use a minimum of 1 ½ cups of any Ocean Spray product and yield 12 servings. Beverage recipes must use a minimum of 1 ½ ounces of Ocean Spray product and yield 1 serving.   • Rising Mango Star Video Contest - Deadline: July 7, 2008
    A  cooking contest for aspiring chefs ages 8-14 to create their own signature mango recipe. After dreaming up the perfect mango dish and capturing the preparation on video, kids can upload the video to YouTube.com, submit their entry via www.mango.org/risingstar, and see if their recipe and accompanying video make the cut.  Submitted recipes can range from appetizers to desserts and anything in between, as long as they include fresh mangos.  Children under the age of 13 must email only their first name and their parent or guardian’s email address to jango@mango.org. The National Mango Board will obtain consent from the parents for their children’s participation. When parental consent is received, instructions will be provided on how to enter. 
    Three finalists will be selected by the National Mango Board to fly with a parent or guardian to New York City in August to compete in a cook-off at The Institute of Culinary Education kitchens for the grand prize. The judge’s panel will include three celebrity chefs, including Ingrid Hoffmann, Chef Allen “The Mango Man” Susser, and Regina Ragone, food director of Family Circle magazine. The winner will star with Ingrid Hoffmann on a television’s Health & Home Report preparing their winning recipe and earn the title of top mango chef.  May the brightest mango star win!
     
  • ‘A Taste from the Melting Pot’ - auditions Deadline July 9, 2008
    - Ebru TV, a new satellite network available in 8-million homes. We are producing a new program called “A Taste from the Melting Pot” and are looking for real women who love to cook to be featured. The program is all about ethic cuisine.  Therefore the specific requirement is that the women we feature all came to America from other countries.  They must also live in the NY, NJ, CT, Philadelphia area.  Here is a description of the show and promotion.
     “A Taste From the Melting Pot” is a new and exciting, television cooking show that highlights ethnic cooking – all prepared by real people like you! 
    Have you moved to America from another country?
    Do you enjoy sharing about your culture and heritage, as well as spending time in the kitchen preparing dishes from your native country?
    If so, send us an email telling us about yourself (200 words or less).  Also, describe 2 or 3 dishes native to your country. Lastly, include a recipe for an ethnic dish.

    Food Network is casting for the popular Dear Food Network specials set to air this holiday season.  Four all new, one-hour programs will feature Food Network fans as they get the chance to have their cooking questions answered face-to-face by their star of choice. 
         To be considered for Dear Food Network, viewers must upload a unique and entertaining three-minute video to www.foodnetwork.com by Monday, July 14th, sharing their story and explaining why they want a chance to have their cooking problems solved by their favorite Food Network star.          From turkey day dilemmas to troubles with leftovers, this interactive cooking show will offer valuable suggestions for holiday dinner parties, “wowing” the relatives, and livening up a simple side dish.  Last holiday season, Dear Food Network: Thanksgiving featured Paula Deen, Bobby Flay, Tyler Florence, and Guy Fieri who all came to the aid of viewers in need of culinary expertise during the holidays.

  • Bundts® Across America Recipe Contest - Deadline: August 1, 2008
    Nordic Ware – maker of the iconic pan – is hosting its third-annual national recipe contest inviting bakers to submit their most creative, best-tasting Bundt creations. Recipes that celebrate ten popular American holidays will be the focus for bakers across the country.
    Contest Rules:  Bakers must create recipes for one of the following popular holidays: Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Independence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas.   • Minnesota State Fair Canning Contest - Deadline: August 5, 2008
    M.A. Gedney Company is calling all Minnesota pickle-canning hobbyists to participate in the 2008 Gedney-sponsored Minnesota State Fair Canning Contest. Gedney, the contest sponsor since 1991, will award prizes for the best pickled cucumber and pepper recipes on August 21, the first day of the Fair.
    Minnesota State Fair representatives will judge this year’s entries in the following new categories:
    PICKLES
    • Best Southwest-Flavored Dill Cucumber Pickle Using Chipotle Peppers and/or Other Flavors
    • Best Cucumber Pickle Using Balsamic Vinegar (may use additional vinegars if desired)
    • Best Cajun Style Dill Cucumber Pickle
    • Best Kid’s Recipe (best flavored cucumber pickle in any flavor or variety submitted by an entrant who is 8-17 years old – assistance with process is acceptable where necessary to ensure safety)
    • Canner's Choice (best uniquely flavored cucumber variety, sliced or whole)
    • International Flair (best ethnic product or recipe using cucumber as the main ingredient)
    • Best Reduced-Sodium Cucumber Pickle
    PEPPERS
    • Best Unique Variety of Roasted Peppers
    Prizes: The prize in this State Fair contest is not only a ribbon and $100, $50, and $25 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (respectively) in each category, but the chance for the winner to have their recipe replicated by Gedney for sale in stores nationwide as part of the company’s unique State Fair line. While Gedney does not manufacture every winning recipe, the popular line product jars feature the name, photo and story of selected State Fair Blue Ribbon contest winners.

  • 48th National Chicken Cooking Contest - Deadline: August 31, 2008
    YOU COULD WIN $50,000 in the National Chicken Cooking Contest! Submit your original recipe and compete for a chance to cook in the National Cook-Off on May 2, 2009, in San Antonio, Texas. It’s easy to enter.  Just send us your best original recipes.  (“Original” means that you developed it yourself and that it is substantially different from any previously published recipe.)  You can submit as many recipes as you like.  Just be sure to submit each one separately because each recipe is judged on its own merits.
    This is a cooking contest, not just a recipe contest.  Each of the nine finalists in San Antonio cooks his or her recipe twice -- once for the judges and once for display.  An independent judging panel selects the winners based on taste, appearance, simplicity, and overall appeal.
    PRIZES: Independent judges select the best recipe from each state.  The person who entered that recipe wins $100, and it goes to the next level of judging.  At the regional level, one winner is selected from each of the nine official (Census Bureau) divisions of the country.   • The 'Search for America's Chief Health Officer' - Deadline: September 30, 2008
    In most households, moms are the nutritional gatekeeper and largely determine what foods and beverages their families consume. This “job description” has become increasingly important with the country’s rising rate of childhood obesity, which has tripled in the last 30 years. To recognize this vital role, America’s milk processors are joining forces with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Project M.O.M. to salute moms nationwide for helping to keep their families healthy and fit. 
         To help spread the word, the got milk? campaign is hitting the road to search for hometown Chief Health Officers.     Foodservice professionals only. The contest is open to any foodservice trained chefs, educator or student 18 years or older.
    Recipes must be original and previously unpublished. Each recipe must use at least 1/3 cup peanuts and/or peanut butter as an ingredient. A recipe can be entered in any of the 4 categories: Appetizer/Snack; Main Dish; Salad/Side Dish; Dessert.
    PRIZES:
