Recipes from The Inglenook Cookbook
by The Sisters of the Brethren Church (1906)
Take 1 pint of lukewarm water, 1/2 cup of lard, 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of yeast, a little salt. In warm weather make up about 10 A. M., work until smooth, set away to rise, cover closely to avoid heavy crust. In the evening late work into tiny rolls and place in pans not too close together, set away until morning; then as soon as you can heat your oven, bake 20 minutes.
