Take 4 eggs, leaving out the whites of 2, 2 cups of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of melted butter, 1/2 cup of sour milk, 1 teaspoonful of soda, 2 teaspoonfuls of cinnamon, 1 1/2 teaspoonfuls of cloves, 1/2 teaspoonful of nutmeg and 2 cups of flour. Dissolve the soda in the sour milk. Bake in layers. Make an icing, using the 2 whites of the 2 eggs and spread between the layers.
