Take 2 cups of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of butter, 2 2/3 cups of flour, 1 cup of sour milk, 1 teaspoonful of soda, 1 teaspoonful of baking powder, 2 teaspoonfuls of ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoonful of ground cloves, 1/2 nutmeg grated, white of i egg and yolks of 2 eggs. Bake either in layers or in a loaf.
