Beat 1 1/2 cups of sugar and 1/2 cup of butter together, then add 3/4 cup of milk. After adding 2 cups of flour, beat the whites of 4 eggs and put in 3 teaspoonfuls of baking powder and 1 teaspoonful of vanilla.
