Take 4 eggs, 1 1/2 cups of white sugar, 1 cup of butter, 4 cups of sifted flour, and 1 1/2 teaspoonfuls of baking powder. Mix all together with the hand. Roll out as soft as possible. Bake in a quick oven. Flavor to taste.

Take 2 cups of sugar, 2 eggs, 1 cup of sweet milk, 1 cup of half butter and half lard, a little lemon flavoring, 2 tablespoonfuls of baking powder, and enough flour to make a soft dough. Roll out thin. Bake in a hot oven. They will keep good for weeks.
