Take 2 cups of sugar, 1 1/2 cups of sweet milk, 5 eggs, 3 tablespoonfuls of butter, 3 tablespoonfuls of baking powder, and enough flour to mix soft. Bake in hot lard, and roll in soft "A" sugar when taken from lard, if desired to give snowy appearance.

Take 1 cup of sugar, 1 egg, 1 cup of sour milk, 1 teaspoonful of soda, 1 teaspoonful of salt, and flavor with nutmeg. Flour to roll.
