Take 1/2 cup each of butter and sugar, 1 cup of molasses, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoonful each of cinnamon and ginger, 1/2 cup of boiling water, 1 teaspoonful of soda, and a pinch of salt mixed in 3 cups of flour. Mix the ingredients in the order named; drop small spoonfuls 2 inches apart in a well-greased pan and bake in a quick oven.
