Beat 1/2 cup of butter to a cream, add 1 cup of flour and stir thoroughly together. Add 1/2 cup of cornstarch and 1/2 cup of sweet milk in which 1 1/2 teaspoonfuls of baking powder has been dissolved. Last add the whites of 4 eggs and 1 cup of sugar well beaten together. Flavor to taste, and bake in a loaf cake.
