Recipes from The Inglenook Cookbook
by The Sisters of the Brethren Church (1906)
Required: 1 pound of dates, 1 pint of rich cream, graham flour. Seed the dates. Cut them in small pieces. Take first-class graham flour, sift into the cream till it forms a paste thick enough to roll out. Roll out 2 layers, 1/4 inch thick. Sprinkle the cut dates over one of these pieces, lav the other thereon, and then roll out smooth. Cut into squares, about 3 inches each way, prick deeply with a fork, and bake till not too crisp.
