Take 4 eggs, 2 cups of sugar, 2 tablespoonfuls of flour, 1/2 cup of butter, 2 pints of water, 1 large lemon, grated (peel before grating) ; boil the custard until thick, pour into 2 baked crusts, and bake.

Take the juice and grated rind of 1 lemon, 1 cup of sugar, 1 egg, 2 tablespoonfuls of flour and 2 cupfuls of water. Cover with a crust. This makes 2 pies.

Take the grated rind and juice of 1 lemon, 3 tablespoonfuls of flour, 3 cups of water, 2 1/2 cups of sugar, 3 eggs and butter the size of a walnut. Boil together and let cool.
