Take 3 pints of flour, 1 teaspoonful of salt, have l quart of milk boiling hot; pour the milk over the flour and stir it to a smooth batter; let stand until cool, then use plenty of flour to roll out the dough; roll just a little thicker than pie crust, cut in squares: have some good meat broth boiling hot, drop the squares into the boiling broth, boil a few minutes.
