Pare and slice the potatoes the same as for frying, place half of them in a baking pan, season with pepper, salt, and bits of butter; then add the other half of the potatoes and season again the same as before. Pour in enough sweet milk to cover the potatoes. Bake in the oven about 1 hour, or until the potatoes are soft. Cold boiled potatoes may be used the same way and do not require more than 1/2 hour for baking.
