Pumpkins were once recommended for removing freckles and curing snake bites!
To remove freckles use the following:
• One ounce lemon juice
• Quarter drachm powdered borax
• Half drachm pulverised sugar.
Mix all, let it stand in a glass for a few days, then apply it and let it dry on the skin.
The nose is very apt to freckle, but these little brown spots can be removed by putting on the nose a little of this lotion:
• Lemon juice, three ounces
• Vinegar, one ounce
• Rose-water, one ounce
• Jamaica rum, one ounce.
Apply this with a sponge several times a day.
