SARA LEE

Sara Lee was a real person. In 1935 Charles Lubin and his brother-in-law purchased a chain of small neighborhood bakeries named Community Bake Shops.

The business was a success, but Charles parted ways with his brother-in-law in 1949. He named his first product (a cream cheese cake) after his eight year old daughter, and also changed the name of the company, to Kitchens of Sara Lee.
