Chef James Quick Take:
This is a fun cookbook with great recipes. David Lawrence's 'Boy Eats World!' makes cooking fun, for both simple and more sophisticated recipes. His easy style of cooking and writing make even the complicated recipes easy to understand and follow. This is one of those cookbooks that make you want to run to the kitchen and start cooking - something very few cookbooks can do.
'Boy Eats World! gets 5 stars from me - a must buy cookbook.
Chef James.
Description
Aspiring cooks who love the idea of entertaining at home have a new mentor in private chef and caterer, David Lawrence, author of Boy Eats World! A Private Chef Cooks Simple Gourmet. By preparing casual, inventive meals with fresh, local ingredients, and more than a dash of enthusiasm, Lawrence reminds us that “it’s all about having fun in the kitchen!”
Cooking “newbies” will welcome Lawrence’s helpful cooking hints and simple directions, while more sophisticated cooks will benefit from his years of high-end catering. He knows how to please guests, by preparing what they really like to eat.
To that end, Boy Eats World! features over 150 recipes for a diverse selection of appetizers, soups, side dishes, entrees, desserts, and party cocktails, inspired by cuisines from home and abroad. Typically, Dave will pair a retro home-style favorite, such as Mom’s Buttermilk Fried Chicken, with to-die-for gourmet desserts. Individual Chocolate Soufflé or Lavender Crème Brulée anyone? Let the evening begin.
