March 15-16, 2014 Wellington Wine Harvest Festival
Wellington, Western Cape, South Africa
Welcome to the Wellington Wine Harvest Festival - an initiative of the Mutual & Federal Agri Wellington Wine Route. In keeping with the quest to bring the world to Wellington and the fact that mere mortals like yourselves can only manage 3 separate visits to 3 different destinations on one day, we have created the 3-themed festival: New Fashioned Boere Bazaar at Diemersfontein which will portray all things authentically South African with suikerkaskenades, boerekos and the Kaapse Boeremusiek Gilde. Top Chilling at Bosman Family Vineyards will be a laid-back long lunch with relaxing vibes in a family orientated and kids-friendly atmosphere. Wilder as die Wildtuin at Welbedacht will embrace all animals – in or out the bottle, mechanical or live - all to the rocking rhythm of a big name band which will bring out the animal in you. But come for the weekend because the next day, 16 March, is declared annual Wine crawl Sunday when you can leisurely visit the wine farms and make use of their special wine deals and discounts.

The Bien Donné Agri Cape Week has become a household name in the Western Cape agricultural circles and has been presented annually by the Agricultural Research Council since 1942. In 1691, Bien Donné meaning 'good gift' was awarded to Pierre Lombard, a French Huguenot from Pontaix, Dauphine in France and in 1937 the South African Government bought the farm to be used as a venue for agricultural research. This year's expo theme is 'Champions in Agriculture' The expo promises to be yet another sensory extravaganza of fruit, wine, vegetables and red meat.
