Recipes from The Inglenook Cookbook
by The Sisters of the Brethren Church (1906)
Pare 1 tomato the size of a small teacup, cut and boil in a teacupful of water until very tender. While boiling, add pepper and salt to season, 1 tablespoonful of butter and a pinch of soda. Before removing from the fire, add 1 pint of fresh milk, let come to a boil only, and serve with broken crackers.
