Recipes from The Inglenook Cookbook
by The Sisters of the Brethren Church (1906)
Boil a beef bone or any kind of beef to make a good soup; when done take it out of the broth and prepare by scraping and paring 2 good-sized carrots, 2 turnips, 2 onions, 2 stalks of celery, 2 potatoes. Put all in a chopping bowl and chop fine, then add it all to the broth together with 1/2 cup of rice and 1/2 can of tomatoes.
