Top:
• 1/4 cup butter or margarine
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 2 (15.5-ounce) cans cherries, drained
Cake Portion:
• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 egg
• 1/2 cup low-fat milk
• 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
Top:
1. Melt the ¼ cup butter or margarine and spread in a 9-inch pan.
2. Mix cherries with sugar and pour into pan.
Cake Portion:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F
2. Mix together all ingredients and pour over cherries in the 9-inch pan.
3. Bake 30 minutes.
4. IMMEDIATELY after baking, invert and put on a serving plate.
