The repugnant and slightly revolting Hagfish are boneless, jawless and scaleless, and ooze copious quantities of slime. A 20 inch hagfish can ooze 2 gallons of slime within minutes.
At first glance they resemble eels, and their skin is actually the source of most eelskin products such as wallets, belts, boots, etc.
The various species of hagfish range in size from about 9 inches to 4 feet long and have been observed as deep as 16,000 feet.
Hagfish enter their prey through the gills, mouth or anus, and eat their prey from the inside out leaving just the skin!
(Hagfish day is in October )
