Pizza Hut Canada produced a limited edition of 110 bottles of 'Eau de Pizza Hut' perfume in December, 2012 to celebrate reaching 100,000 Facebook fans. The idea for the perfume was inspired by Facebook posts about how much fans loved the smell when opening a pizza box.
In 1958 two college-aged brothers, Frank and Dan Carney borrowed $600 from their mother and opened the first Pizza Hut restaurant in Wichita, Kansas. The name reflected the appearance of the small brick building they had rented.
They sold a small pizza for $.95 and a large one for $1.50. Within a year they had five more Pizza Hut restaurants and began franchising Pizza Hut restaurants in 1959.
In 1977 PepsiCo purchased Pizza Hut and in 1997 it was spun off into what would become Yum! Brands Inc.
