A great way to meet neighbors and friends as the community sits down at Springfield’s breakfast table in celebration of the city’s May 14, 1636 founding. Serving thousands of people, volunteers prepare the menu including pancakes, coffee, juice and milk. The breakfast table runs down Main Street from Tower Square to Court Square.

East Sandwich, Massachusetts
Stop by this one day Plant Sale from 9am to 12pm and select from a limited number of true wildflowers, native and naturalized, dug from the nature center’s award-winning Shirley G. Cross Wildflower Garden.  You will also find perennials, annuals, small ornamental trees and shrubs, full sun, full shade and wet area choices.  This is a home garden community sponsored event – all to support maintenance of Green Briar’s wildflower garden.

May 19, 2024  17th Annual Taste of SouthCoast

Taste Of SouthCoast festival from noon – 5pm (tastings end at 3:15pm) at Pier 3 on the waterfront.  This family-friendly event features SouthCoast restaurants, caterers, and bakeries serving up sample size portions of their signature dishes. Located at Hawleywood, 84 Middle Road in Hawley, Massachusetts.  All are welcome at the newest food event in Hawley, Massachusetts, which will be low key but fun. Bring your favorite rhubarb dish, recipe, or anecdote—or just come relax in the country and taste other people’s treats.  The day celebrates rhubarb in general and the publication of the new book, “Love, Laughter, and Rhubarb.”  At 3 p.m. horticultural maven Pat Leuchtman will discuss raising rhubarb. And writer/chanteuse Tinky Weisblat will sing a song of rhubarb and talk about her love of this much maligned food. Red attire is encouraged but not required. The 2017 festival will take place on the gorgeous island of Martha's Vineyard. It's a four day island-wide celebration of wine and food at local homes and businesses with events like signature grand tastings, private home dinners, oyster safaris, and more. Tickets go on sale March 2017.

An entire day of food and fun, all to benefit the Joey Fund for Cystic Fibrosis. The event, which was founded in 1989, features a dozen kinds of hot dogs, other delicious foods, and tons of fun for up to 30,000 people seeking the best hot dog in New England.

May 9, 2015  BARS Annual Blessing of the Rakes
Osterville, Massachusetts
Barnstable Association for Recreational Shellfishing.  Bring your shellfish rakes, and have them blessed by local clergy for a bountiful harvest. Reed Baer, Pastor of West Parish Barnstable will officiate. Bring your rakes, and if you bring your bucket you can grab some clams after (if you have your shellfishing license).

The 8th annual ACBF, held at the Seaport World Trade Center, is the east coast's largest celebration of American beer, featuring over 140 American brewers and over 640 beers!   Attendance: 15,000.
