This traditional oven-baked meat loaf takes about 1½ hours to bake. The savory combination of sage and Worcestershire sauce in South Dakota Meat Loaf nicely complements the ground beef.

Bake: 1 hour 25 min. + standing
Yield: 6 servings.
Ingredients
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/3 cup evaporated milk
3/4 cup quick-cooking oats
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1½ pounds ground beef
1/4 cup ketchup
Directions
1) In a large bowl, combine the egg, milk, oats, onion, Worcestershire sauce and seasonings. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well.
2) Press into an ungreased 8-in. x 4-in. x 2-in. loaf pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 1¼ hours; drain.
3) Drizzle with ketchup; bake 10 minutes longer or until meat is no longer pink and a meat thermometer reads 160°. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
