DOGGONE GOOD
Serves 4

Ingredients

    • 1 pkg. hot dogs
    • 4 strips of bacon
    • 8 slices of extra sharp cheddar cheese
    • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
    • Yellow Mustard
    • Celery salt & pepper
    • Vlasic® Kosher Dill Spears

Directions

Cut each hot dog almost in half lengthwise.  Spread apart and brush inside of each dog with mustard and barbecue sauce.  Sprinkle with celery salt & pepper.

Grill bacon until it’s just firm, drain and cut into quarters (cut in half lengthwise and widthwise).  Fold each cheese slice in half lengthwise, then fold in half lengthwise again.  Place in hot dog, and put a 1/4 of bacon on either side of cheese.  Tie hot dog partially closed in two places with butchers twine.

Place dogs on grill with the cut side up, and cook over high heat until browned on bottom and both sides (approx. 8 minutes).
Remove twine from dogs and serve them on buns you’ve buttered and toasted on the grill.

Don’t forget these classic pickle tray tips for the perfect crunchy, juicy snack or side – all the crunch and flavor without the calories or fat:

TIPS FOR A PICKLE TRAY

    • Pick your platter, preferably in a pickle shape or tray with separate compartments to keep flavors separate

    • For variety of crunch, texture and color fill the tray with Vlasic® whole pickles, pickle spears, pickle chips and peppers for munching

    • Bowl them over! Serve your guests straight from the bowl with toothpicks so they can crunch and munch without fat or calories

    • For more crunch and flavor add stackers and relish to crackers, hotdogs, burgers or sandwiches

Vlasic pickles are available in nine key segments including Kosher Dill Spears, Bread and Butter Chips, Ovals, Sweet Whole Gherkins, Large Whole Dills, Stackers, Relish and Peppers. Look for the familiar Stork character on the bottle in supermarkets near you.   For more information about Vlasic, please visit www.vlasic.com
