August 3, 2024  HarvestFest
Elgin, Arizona
Sonoita Vineyards.  A great way for us to kick-off our Harvest Season! This is a grand festival, with hundreds of guests participating in the activities including grape stomping competitions, vineyard tours, along with tastings and pairings showing off our signature wines. Don’t get left out of our VIP experience make sure to get your tickets these go fast!

August 3-4, 2024 - Route 66 Chili Cook Off and AZ State Chili Championship - Flagstaff, Arizona
Thorpe Park in Flagstaff. Annual Route 66 Regional Chili Cookoff and Arizona State Chili Championship. Come out and cook with us or just join us to sample the chili's.

August 10-11 & 17-18, 2024  Green Chili Roast - Willcox, Arizona
Enjoy delicious green chili ice cream. Pick your own or select pre-picked chilies and get your purchase of 40 pounds or more roasted free. Add roasted green chilies to your burger at lunch in the Orchard Grill.

August 24, 2024  11th Southern Arizona Salsa, Tequila & Taco Challenge - Tucson, Arizona
Cocktail craft and culinary creativity is taken to a new level at Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance’s Annual Salsa, Tequila & Taco Challenge. Tequila infused popsicles, sno-cones, and mixed drinks will surprise attendees with refreshing colors, while kimchi, blueberry-jalapeno and “Smokeless Fire” salsas will spice up their palettes.
 


 

August 24, 2024  Annual Prickly Pear Festival - Superior, Arizona
Visitors to the festival will learn to identify the most edible of the hundreds of prickly pears in the state, gather and prepare the luscious purple fruit and the nutritious green pads. Experts will guide visitors in how to turn the pears into tasty salads, entrees and desserts, brew a light melony pale ale and make wine and mead from the fruit.

August 30-September 2, 2024  75th Coconino County Fair
Fort Tuthill County Park, Arizona
3 special activity and exhibits areas: arts and culture, conservation and sustainable environment and variety stage, as well as traditional fair exhibits, livestock shows and auction, cultural presentations, a wide variety of commercial and food vendors,  Attendance: 45,000.

August 31, 2024  Taylor Sweet Corn Festival - Taylor, Arizona
100 Years and Growing! Events include arts & crafts, parade, ranch rodeo, BBQ, and of course Sweet Corn.

August 31-September 8, 2024 - Apple Harvest Celebration
Willcox, Arizona
Actually, Southeastern Arizona’s elevation is ideal for orchards. Each year Apple Annie’s Orchard & Produce in Willcox hosts a harvest celebration, when you can pick apples, fill up on pancakes doused in cider syrup, hop on a hayride or opt for peaches and pears, which are also ripe then.  August 31 and Sept 1-2 and 7-8, 2024.

August 2, 2019  World Margarita Championship - Tucson, Arizona
Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance and Tucson Original Restaurants partner together to bring you the World Margarita Championship, an unforgettable evening of spirited cocktail competitions, tastings of world class Margaritas and tequilas, cuisine of the southwest, and more.  Tucson Original Restaurants chefs and restaurants will battle it out with live Judging and a People’s Choice award, for the best Signature Margarita.  Enjoy food sampling and margarita tastings from Southern Arizona Tucson Original Restaurants and Purveyors.  Attendees will get to vote for your favorite margarita!

August 23-24, 2019  Mushroom Weekend - Flagstaff, Arizona
The Arboretum at Flagstaff.  This popular annual event offers an opportunity to learn, hike, and discover mushrooms of northern Arizona. Your ticket includes entry to a mushroom lecture (4pm or 6pm) and mushroom garden tour (3:30pm or 5:30pm) on Friday, at The Arboretum at Flagstaff as well as participation in the Mushroom Identification Field Trip on Saturday from 9am – 1pm.

August 25-26, 2018 - Annual El Zaribah CornFest and Arts & Craft Show
Phoenix, Arizona
Free Admission.  Delicious Meal of HOT Sweet Corn on the Cob with Hamburger or Hot Dog , plus Beans.  Food Tickets: Adults $9 in advance, $10 at the door.  Kids under 8 $6 in advance & at the door.  Sweet Corn for Sale $6 for 1/2 doz., $12 for a Baker’s doz.  Arts & Crafts Festival; 60+ Vendors on site in comfortable air conditioning.  Clowns for the Kids; Face painting; Balloon animals.

August 26, 2017 - Prickly Pear Festival - Tucson, Arizona
St Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.  This celebration is all things deliciously Prickly Pear.  It's amazing the different and many prickly pear options there are in Tucson. Restaurants use it as an ingredient in their recipes; the juice can be harvested for beverages (margaritas, lemonade, wine and even beer!), recipe books have been written, it is said to have medicinal properties, it is inspiration for many different types and styles of art and Tucson has its very own Prickly Pear Park!
