26th Annual Estherville Sweet Corn Days - Estherville, Iowa
Estherville Sweet Corn Days is a 4 day event for everyone! Thursday night is the lighting of the cobs - a fun kick-off including s'mores! Friday is Family Night with family entertainment, kids games, a car cruise and a steak supper! Saturday is a day of fun for everyone!Saturday starts the day with one of the biggest parades in the area, FREE SWEETCORN, inflatables, craft show, food vendors and so much more! End the night on Saturday with a concert by Junk FM! Sunday is a relaxing day including a fun float and other relaxing activities!

August 3, 2024 - Grain Harvest - Urbandale, Iowa
Living History Farms’ “original” community event! Get your hands dirty and help our interpreters bring in this year’s grain harvest, using hand power, horsepower, and steam. Witness it all as you hear the smash of the flail and the roar of the steam-powered thresher. Demonstrations will be weather dependent. Event activities are included in regular admission to Living History Farms.

August 7-11, 2024  West Point Sweet Corn Festival - West Point, Iowa
Iowa's largest Sweet Corn Festival. All you can eat sweet corn, free entertainment, midway and more. Pull up a seat and help volunteers shuck nearly 17 tons of sweet corn at Shuckfest held the day before the Sweet Corn Festival.  Attendance: 25,000.

August 8-18, 2024  Iowa State Fair - Des Moines, Iowa
Annually attracting more than a million people, the Iowa State Fair is a salute to the state’s best in agriculture, industry, entertainment and achievement. One of the oldest and largest agricultural and industrial expositions in the country, it was the inspiration for the original novel “State Fair” by Iowan Phil Stong, three motion pictures, and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Broadway musical.  Attendance: 1,000,000.
 


 

August 9-11, 2024  Annual Sweet Corn Days - Lime Springs, Iowa
Three full days of fun and entertainment, including Miss Sweet Corn & King of Corn, entertainment, parade, flea & craft markets, classic car show, softball & horseshoe tournaments, and free sweet corn!

August 9-11, 2024  53rd Threshermen Festival and Collectors Show
Albert City, Iowa
Agricultural heritage event with field activities, craft show and food.  Out in the field, visitors can expect to see a lot of demonstrations and activities. Typical farming operations being done by at least five different generations of machinery at one time. It will start with horse-drawn equipment and move through steam power, prairie tractors and gas tractors.

August 10, 2024  Stem & Stein - Waterloo, Iowa

Farm tours, artists, wineries, Amish furniture, Amish buggy rides, Amish school breakfast and more.

August 15-17, 2024  Annual Lisbon Sauerkraut Days - Lisbon, Iowa
Sauerkraut King and Queen, parade, street dances, golf and softball tournaments, cabbage weigh-off and more!

August 16-18, 2024  59th Annual Old Time Power Show
Cedar Falls, Iowa
Founded in 1964, Antique Acres is best known for its yearly Old Time Power Show in August, which is dedicated to the preservation and operation of  antique machinery. Here you will find exhibitors displaying collections of farming equipment of all kinds, jelly being made on an old fashioned wood stove, or butter being churned. A “Parade of Power” from antique garden tractors to powerful steam engines, which put on a beautiful light show after dark, is only one of the 3-day show events.

August 23-25, 2024  World Food & Music Festival - Des Moines, Iowa
More than 50 Food Vendors Featuring.  Cuisine from Around the World. Live Entertainment  –  Cooking Demonstrations. $1 tastes/all entrees $5 or less.  Free to attend.

August 24, 2024  18th Annual Independence BrewBQ
Independence, Iowa
Overwhelm your senses with outstanding BBQ, slow cooked for hours over hardwood smoke. Food and standard beverages are available by purchasing tickets at the event.  Our Craft Brew Zone features over 50 craft brews and is open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Passes for the Craft Brew Zone are available in advance or at the gate. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy our live music. Music starts at 2:00 and lasts until 9:00 p.m.

August 27-29, 2024  Annual Farm Progress Show - Boone, Iowa
The Nation's Largest Outdoor Farm Show.  This major agriculture event, "The Super Bowl of Agriculture", gives visitors the opportunity to see the latest equipment, seed, crop chemicals, field demonstrations, livestock handling and equine events, entertainment, and more. Farmers and ranchers from across North America and around the world visit the event to see agriculture’s latest product introductions, meet face-to-face with agribusiness professionals and gain hands-on knowledge.

August 29-September 2, 2024  Midwest Old Threshers Reunion
Mount Pleasant, Iowa
The largest collection of working steam power in the Midwest. Traction steam engines, antique gas tractors, trolleys, a steam carousel and more. Crafts, great food, bluegrass and gospel music.

August 31, 2024  Food Truck Festival - Waterloo, Iowa
An amazing day with delicious food and fun for all ages.  The festival will take-over RiverLoop Expo Plaza and more, and will feature some of the best food truck vendors from throughout the region.

August 6, 2022  Bacon-N-Hops Fest - Manchester, Iowa
Enjoy samples of bacon inspired foods and try the hops from various breweries and home brewers at Manchester’s own Bacon-N-Hops Fest! This event coincides with the Country Car Cruise and Motorcycle Trials and  also brings in great entertainment!  Tickets at the gate will be $25. Music lovers can also attend the music portion only for $5.
