Svensk Hyllningsfest 2025
Lindsborg, Kansas
Occurring in October of odd-numbered years, the residents of Lindsborg, Kansas host a community-wide festival and don traditional Swedish folk costumes to celebrate the Swedish pioneers who settled the Smoky Valley in 1868 – 1869. The festival features art and crafts, special foods, ethnic music, and other special entertainment while Swedish folk dancers and musicians add to the flavor of the festival.

October 5-6, 2024 - Annual Kaw Valley Farm Tour
Douglas County, Kansas
Farms in Northeast Kansas open to the public.  Always the first full weekend in October.  Gather up your friends, fill up a car, locate farms on the map and decide which route you want to take! Pick and choose whichever farms you want to visit! Tickets are $10 per carload and good for both days.  Tour hours are from 9:00 a.m.— 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. --5:00 p.m. Sunday of Farm Tour weekend. Farmers offer their farms as tour stops. They will have guided tours of their individual farms and will be available to talk to you about their farm practices. You are responsible for transportation between farms. Many will have educational displays and most will have farm products for sale.  We want you to come see the diversity of agriculture in our region. We have everything from alpacas to zucchinis -- check out the farms list for more information.

October 11-12, 2024  Lenexa Chili Challenge - Lenexa, Kansas
Each year about 200 teams compete in two divisions: Chili Appreciation Society International (C.A.S.I.) and Home Style Chili. Contestants may also compete in the Salsa Division and hot wing contest.

October 12, 2024  Fall Festival - Wellington, Kansas
Homecoming Parade; Chili Cook-Off; Cinnamon roll Bake-Off; Art & Craft Fair; Veterans Salute; Live Entertainment.

October 14-18, 2024 - National School Lunch Week - Nationwide
School Nutrition Association.

October 21-31, 2022  Lenexa Fall-O-Ween Yard Tour - Lenexa, Kansas
Welcome the beauty of fall and the spook-tacular fun of Halloween by participating in the Lenexa Fall-O-Ween Yard Tour!  Decorate your yard in fall or Halloween-themed flare and bring a smile to your neighbors and friends. As a registered entry, you will be added to our Fall-O-Ween Tour map. Registered and confirmed participants will receive a free commemorative official entry yard sign, while supplies last.
