The South Beach Diet Quick and Easy Cookbook: 200 Delicious Recipes Ready in 30 Minutes or Less

by Arthur Agatston

Reviews
Quick Take from Chef James
I am not big on diet cookbooks - but the recipes in this (and other South Beach Diet Books) do not seem like diet recipes.  The recipes are good to excellent, and easy to prepare, dieting or not. I can’t offer an opinion on whether or not you will lose weight with these recipes, but they use healthy ingredients and taste great. What more can you ask for?
Chef James

I'm a busy working mom and being able to prepare a nutrient-rich meal -- that my family will actually eat -- in under 30 minutes is fantastic. The turkey and white bean chili (page 196)is their favorite so far. My husband, my teenager and I, all watch our weight and this cookbook is fast becoming our favorite tool in helping us add whole grains, lean sources of protein, and more vegetables to our meal plans. I love Dr. Agatston's sensible approach to nutrition and his philosophy that if we're satiated and satisfied by nutrient dense, fiber rich foods, we'll lose weight and have healthier hearts and blood chemistry.  bookfan2004, Fogelsville, PA.

This is by far their best book. At the beginning of the book, there is an A - Z glossary for the ingredients of all the books. This helps me when I need to shop and the helpful hints are awesome. The recipes are easy and so darn good. I do not feel like I am on a DIET! This book definitely helps me maintain my new "lifestyle" and I just hope they keep these types of books coming! ...this cookbook is a great addition to your cooking library. It has become one of my favorite cookbooks -- the recipes are easy to follow, the pictures are wonderful, but most importantly, the food tastes great! I really like the Indian Chicken -- this is a great dish to entertain with -- add some brown rice and a green salad, and you have a tasty, impressive and healthy meal. M. Mathis, Houston, TX
