The primary objective of the Alabama Pecan Festival is to provide the community and surrounding area with support and education regarding the impact of agriculture on our society. November 1-10, 2024 National Peanut Festival - Dothan, Alabama Approximately half of the peanuts grown in the United States are grown within a 100-mile radius of Dothan, Alabama. This is the nation's largest peanut festival. It is held each fall to honor peanut growers and to celebrate the harvest season. Locally made fruitcakes, in specially designed tins, will be for sale all day Friday. A special theatrical performance brings Capote's stories to life at 7:00 pm in the world-famous courtroom of the Old Courthouse Museum. |
