50th Annual Festival of Trees & Traditions
Hartford, Connecticut
Wadswprth Atheneum Museum of Art.  Celebrate the season at the Annual Festival of Trees & Traditions! Established in 1973, Festival has become an annual holiday tradition for many visitors from throughout the state and beyond. Every year community members, artists and organizations are asked to decorate holiday trees and wreaths to be displayed in the galleries. All items are for sale, and profits help fund the museum’s special exhibitions, educational programs, and operating expenses. Special events take place throughout the festival.

December 6-7, 2024  Christmas Town Festival - Bethlehem, Connecticut
Follow the star to Bethlehem, Connecticut. More than 70 art and craft exhibitors in seven building, hay rides, strolling carolers, entertainment and food. Visit the post office to mail your Christmas cards with the special Christmas Cache.

December 7, 2024  Norwich Winterfest Parade - Norwich, Connecticut
Parade starts at 6:00 pm.

December 7, 2024  Olde Mistick Village Holiday Carnival
Mystic, Connecticut
Fun events and activities in the shops and around the village. Bring your four-legged friends for a “pets only” visit with Santa. Enter the Gingerbread House Contest.

11-3pm – Leffingwell House Museum.  Holiday History, Music & Tastes of  the season; Big Bear Trading, Colonial Chocolate.

December 31, 2024  Annual First Night Hartford - Hartford, Connecticut
First Night is a multicultural, artistically unique, alcohol-free New Year’s experience with countless professional musicians, artists, performance groups and exhibits that inspire thousands of people of all ages to attend each year.  It’s also an affordable way for everyone to ring in the New Year.  The day includes TWO spectacular fireworks shows at 6 PM and midnight in Bushnell Park that can be seen throughout the city by thousands of residents and visitors.

December 14, 2019  31st Annual Niantic Light Parade
Niantic, East Lyme, Connecticut
Fireworks are expected to once again kick off the Light Parade which features beautifully built and lighted parade floats, dance groups and Santa himself as they parade down the beautifully decorated Main Street in Niantic.

December 14, 2019 - A Dickens Parlor Christmas - Groton, Connecticut
Avery-Copp Museum.  Spend an evening in Christmas past. Jennifer Emerson, historic interpreter and Dickens enthusiast, will entertain you with a dramatic reading of the classic, “A Christmas Carol”, by Charles Dickens. Enjoy the beauty of a Victorian house decorated for the holidays.  Christmas cookies and punch will be served.  $20.00 Reservations required.

December 31, 2018  New Year's Eve Black & White Ball
Mystic, Connecticut
Usher in the New Year enjoying the classic elegance of the Black and White Ball at Mystic Aquarium. Don your best black/white attire and kick up your heels to live entertainment by Nancy Paolino & The Black Tie Band. Amid the watery wonderland of the Aquarium’s Main Gallery, guests will savor Ocean Blue Catering’s gourmet food stations and complimentary drink vouchers.  And, by celebrating at the Black and White Ball, you can help the endangered African penguins as a portion of the proceeds goes to support Mystic Aquarium’s Mission Programs.

December 2, 2017 - Olde Mistick Village Gingerbread House Contest
Mystic, Connecticut
Calling all Gingerbread House Enthusiasts! Individuals, community groups, schools, church groups and culinary entities, are invited to enter the First Annual Gingerbread House Contest at Olde Mistick Village. Entries will be divided into three categories: 1) Individuals, Families, and Children; 2) Businesses, Churches and Community Groups; and 3) Professional Culinary Individuals and Groups. All Gingerbread Houses must be 100% edible with exception of the base.
