February 15-23, 2025 Omaha Beer Week - Omaha, Nebraska Started in 2012 by members and supporters of Omaha’s craft beer industry, Omaha Beer Week is an advocacy group that spotlights breweries, tap houses, craft beer bars, and hobby shops across the metro area. For a full week, people from across Nebraska and surrounding states come together over drinks to share friendship, fun, and entertainment. Sterling Morton (whose son would go on to found the Morton Salt Company) was a famed agriculturalist who would go on to serve as Secretary of Agriculture under President Grover Cleveland. But first, in 1872, Morton founded Arbor Day to encourage individuals, groups and municipalities alike to plant trees. On that first Arbor Day alone, over one million trees were planted in Nebraska. July 12-14, 2024 The Wayne Chicken Show - Wayne, Nebraska The Chicken Show is a fun event held annually on the second Saturday in July.
