Nugget Casino Resort. The Super Bowl of rib competitions on the national BBQ competition circuit. Two dozen of the country’s best BBQ teams competed for nearly $20,000 in prize money plus prestigious bragging rights! It is estimated that 350,000-400,000 BBQ enthusiasts take part of the festivities each year consuming more than 250,000 pounds of mouthwatering ribs during the 6-day festival. Also a huge arts and crafts vendor show, kids area, VIP area and top named entertainment performing on two stages. There is no admission fee and the event is open to the public. The Candy Dance originated in 1919 to purchase street lights for the small settlement of Genoa. A dance was held where candy was served by the ladies of the community. An art fair was added in the 1970's. The dance and candy making tradition continues and draws thousands to the town each year.

Sample fine wines, a unique selection of beers and food from some of Las Vegas' finest restaurants—while helping to raise money for a good cause—at the Springs Preserve's annual Grapes & Hops Festival. Kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, this charity event benefits Par for The Cure, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research. Grapes & Hops will feature tastings of fine wines and unique beers, live music, and a silent auction. Several local restaurants will be on hand to offer free food samples from their menus.
