ICE CREAM SHOPS

There was a time, a special time, many years ago

When the comer ice cream store was where we kids would go.

We'd watch with eager eyes as the counterman would make

Our ice cream soda, malted milk or whipped cream chocolate shake.

But in recent years the ice cream shops have created other trends

By adding new ingredients in a large variety of blends.

They have slurpies, slushies, smoothies and a lot of other "ies".

Just learning how to mix them requires university degrees.

Despite these drink creations I think things tasted better then,

The time that everything was simpler and I was nearly ten.
